This is a Damascus chef knife hand-forged from a 100-layer combo of shiny and dark steel compressed into a one-of-a-kind topographic design. Every fold in the Damascus steel reflects our commitment to time-honored techniques, unparalleled durability, and originality that’s born from an entirely handmade process.

To elevate the shine and contrast throughout the flow of the damascus blade, we used distilled white vinegar to remove the scale left behind after forging. It’s an arduous process, but well worth it for such a striking finished piece of function art.

The blade

Ooh, this blade is thin! In the best way, because it slices effortlessly, has a big rocking belly, and feels super balanced in-hand.

The handle
And to meet the artfully organic nature of the topographic damascus blade, we designed the handle with foeder oak locally sourced in Sonoma County, California. The Foeder oak is blackened with the vinegar we use to descale steel.

In the kitchen
This french-style chef knife offers enhanced rocking and rolling that many people prefer as they chop, slice and dice. It push cuts effortlessly, and offers a super thin pointed tip for detail work.

How we present it
Our knives are currently shipping with a walnut box we’ve built by hand from salvage firewood.
